National Merit Finalist Letters Are Live
Quick update for our National Merit families —
Finalist letters have reportedly been uploaded to the Online Scholarship Application portal. If you're a Semifinalist waiting on your status, log in now:
As a reminder, NMSC also mailed Certificates of Merit to high school principals on February 2, and hard-copy letters to Finalists at their home addresses starting today, February 9. But the OSA portal appears to be the fastest way to find out.
If you've advanced to Finalist — congratulations! About 95% of the 16,000+ Semifinalists were expected to reach this stage, so the odds were in your favor, but it's still a big deal. You're now in the running for approximately 6,930 scholarships worth nearly $26 million.
What to do next:
- Scholarship winners will start being notified in March, with announcements rolling through July.
- If you have a first-choice college that sponsors Merit Scholarships, report it through the OSA before March 1 to be included in the first group considered.
